INTER EXTEND LEAD DESPITE DRAW

Italian Serie A leaders Inter Milan were able to extend their advantage at the summit despite the draw at Spezia on Wednesday. Inter Milan and hosts Spezia played out a 1-1 draw with the two goals coming in the first half.

Diego Farias gave Spezia a shock lead inside the first 15 minutes but they were unable to hold on for the rest of the first half. Brazilian attacker Farias is on loan at Spezia from fellow Italian football top flight team Cagliari.

Inter Milan levelled proceedings through Croatian international player Ivan Perisic. Perisic equalised for the Nerazzuri six minutes from the interval, which ensured that the two teams went into the halftime break on level terms.

Roberto Mancini happy to see Inter Milan finish at Fourth Position

Roberto Mancini claims that Inter Milan do not deserve to finish anything more than fourth in the table for a mediocre campaign.

Mancini set out with the task of getting Inter back in the Champions League. The club has been out of this competition for the last few years, which is impressive given their pedigree in Italian football. Despite signing several big-name players over the last few transfer windows, Mancini has been unable to get consistent set of results required to finish in the Champions League spots.

Inter Milan suffered a major blow to their title race

Inter Milan suffered a major blow to their title race after the 3-3 draw with Hellas Verona.

Following the match, manager Roberto Mancini ruled out the possibility of winning the title this season. This was due to Juventus stretching their winning run even further with a 2-0 win against Frosinone. Inter were expected to get a consecutive win – following their narrow win over Chievo – a week ago. As the league’s bottom club,Hellas Verona were seen as easy opposition. However, they put up a stern fight and were able to come away with a thrilling draw.

INTER NOT TAKING DNIPRO LIGHTLY

The Internazionale boss, Walter Mazzarri, has admitted that his team’s upcoming fixture versus Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk is going to be a difficult one, but, he is optimistic and believes that his team would manage to get over the line.

Mazzarri’s teams have historically had a hard time while playing against the clubs from Ukraine.

When the Italian was in charge of Sampdoria 5 years back, he saw defeat against Metalist Kharkiv. And, then, he saw another defeat during the 2012-13 Season. At that time, he was the manager of Napoli and the opposition side there was Dnipro.

So, it’s something which would be playing in Mazzarri’s mind when he leads the Inter boys into the arena later this week in Kiev.

INTER CAN LEARN

The Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has said that Inter Milan can learn from the mistakes that they had made in the past and that they will be doing well this season. Inter Milan have invested heavily in the summer transfer window replacing a number of high profile players with solid players from the Italian Serie A.

However, it did not seem to make a lot of changes to the team after the new look side was beaten by Roma during the weekend. After the match, the Inter Milan president has said that he would ideally like to see Inter Milan win the title and they should be learning from the mistakes committed in this match if they are to do so.
