CAPELLO SET FOR RUSSIA ROLE

Italian manager Fabio Capello is all set to become the next manager of the Russian national football team after it was revealed that he is currently in Moscow to sign a new deal.

The Russian national football team has been searching for a new manager after the departure of Dick Advocaat, who resigned from his position after the end of the Euro 2012 in order to take charge of Ajax. The Russian national team has been linked with a number of high-profile managers like Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini and Fabio Capello, who resigned from his England managerial position only in March.

Due to the fact that Fabio Capello is available and ready to start work, it is thought that the Russian national football Association have decided to bring in the former England manager in order to start the preparations for the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Russia failed to qualify for the last World Cup, despite being one of the surprise teams at the Euro 2008. They failed to get past the group stages of the Euro 2012, and it will be one of the major tasks of Fabio Capello to rebuild the team that contains ageing players like Andrei Arshavin.

Fabio Capello was one of the highest earning managers in world football as result of his contract with the England football Association. He is once again set to reclaim the spot amongst the top managers of the world as a result of the contract with the Russian football Association. Media reports suggested that Fabio Capello could earn anywhere between $ 6 million and $ 12 million per year. The basic salary could increase depending upon the performances with the national team. One of the first priorities for the former England manager will be to start the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign in the best possible manner.
